A Little Bit About Matt

Matt McWilliam was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and he's been building websites since he was 13. His first was Xtreme Music Lists, a popular music industry site that ranked higher on search engines than Amazon.com and Billboard.com. This was 1997, after all. He also ran his own banner ad network.

As a senior in high school, Matt was hired by AT&T as a sales manager, where he grew his sales team from 1 to over 12 sales representatives that he trained and managed. As a teenager he also wrote a paper on advertising network management that was recognized by DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). Matt graduated in 2002 and was voted "Most Independent" by his graduating class.

Matt wanted to offer something back to his community, so in 2004 he founded Cleveland Apartment Finders, a website where apartment communities and property management companies could list their vacancies. In November 2005 he put his web development skills back to work and started MJM Design. The company moved to Columbus in 2009, and today it works with clients all over the country.

Since then he's built CbusJobs.com, Rent Merchant and the Uplifting News app, and he's written a number of business articles over the years.

Matt also enjoys donating his time. In 2011 he started volunteering with the Contemporary Arts Center of Las Vegas, where he was voted onto the Board of Directors. He helped design and build the organization's website and marketing materials, which led to more new and renewed memberships and more awareness of its community events.

Matt believes in paying it forward and helping others.
